About the Collaborative
Building from shared needs, not assumptions.
Eye Pathology Collaborative Ltd is an Australian not-for-profit established to strengthen connections across eye pathology. We aim to bring together pathologists, ophthalmologists, researchers, educators and trainees to consider where coordinated action could make a useful and sustainable contribution.
Our first step is consultation. The priorities and activities of the Collaborative will be shaped by the people and organisations working across eye health and pathology.

We are preparing a structured consultation with professional and educational bodies, curriculum stakeholders and the wider eye pathology community. Direct surveys will invite perspectives on education and training, diagnostic quality, research opportunities, resource gaps and regional collaboration.

Long-term directions
Areas we are exploring.
These are future directions, not yet active programs. Consultation will help determine where there is genuine need, a collaborative role and the capacity to deliver.
Education
Explore the need for case-based education, specialist teaching, shared curricula and improved access to ophthalmic pathology expertise.
Research
Identify areas in which coordinated clinicopathological and tissue-based research could add value.
Quality
Understand priorities for diagnostic terminology, specimen handling, reporting, peer learning and quality assurance.
Resources
Assess demand for accessible cases, protocols, reporting guidance, teaching material and research tools.
Exploring regional collaboration
Asia-Pacific Ophthalmic Pathology Society
EPC is exploring interest in establishing an Asia-Pacific Ophthalmic Pathology Society (APOPS) to connect pathologists and colleagues working across eye health in the region.
APOPS is an early-stage concept. Its purpose and activities will be shaped through regional consultation.

We are just getting started. Looking ahead, we hope to establish advisory committees that bring additional clinical, scientific, educational and regional perspectives to EPC’s work.
